Alkes began as Kaja Słojewska’s graduation project at the University of Reading and was later refined through collaboration with Plamen Motev and Nikolay Petroussenko at Fontfabric. Named after a star and inspired by the cosmos, it evolved into a humanist serif designed to harmonize Latin, Cyrillic, and Greek scripts while balancing digital precision and analog charm.
