Color

In typography, color describes the collective visual weight, density, and tonal presence of text on a page, specifically how its darkness or lightness balances against the surrounding white space, rather than literal hues from a color palette or swatch.

In typography, color describes the collective visual weight, density, and tonal presence of text on a page, specifically how its darkness or lightness balances against the surrounding white space, rather than literal hues from a color palette or swatch.

Any modification to a text block can shift this perceived tonal value. For instance, swapping out a typeface, altering its weight or grade, or adjusting the line height will directly impact the overall typographic color of the composition.
